Homeschoolers @ the Library
March 3, 2016
Last fall, Miss Laura and Mrs. Burke began teaching a special monthly class for homeschoolers. This special program for Grades K-6 gives homeschooling families opportunities to interact with each other and the resources available to them at the library. It has proved to be a success, with new children coming each month.
So far, themes have included Fire Safety, Animal Camouflage, and Tall Tales (highlighting Parts of Speech). As the program expands, the class may break up into older and younger groups for age-appropriate activities and books. So far the class has included read-alouds, crafts, worksheets, group activities and games, and educational videos.
The Abington Community Library is proud to support the homeschoolers in our community by providing this special class. If you are interested in registering, or have ideas for future homeschooling programs, please contact Miss Laura or Mrs. Burke.
