American Indian Pow-Wow for Families!
June 13, 2016
After the success of last year’s event, the Library will be hosting another Native American Mini Pow Wow this summer on Wednesday, June 22, from 4-7PM. This event will feature traditional Aztec dancers, the Salinas Family, award-winning hoop dancer Matt WhiteEagle, native flute player Lori Hawk, and arena director and storyteller Tony Moon Hawk. Vendors will also be on hand with handmade items for purchase: Linda Greene’s fresh fry bread with various toppings, Salinas Family jewelry, Lori Hawk handmade beaded jewelry, Raven’s Curiosities featuring glass and leather work, and Tony Moon Hawk with a variety of native goods such as furs, leather, and jewelry.
Join us for the program at 4PM, or come when the program repeats at 5:30PM. Weather permitting, this event will be outside in the parking lot. Bring the whole family; no registration required. Sponsored by the Friends of the Abington Community Library.
