Relax and Start Downloading
September 24, 2014
If you’re not downloading eBooks or audiobooks from the library because you think it’s too complicated, try now. It just got easier.
Go to “Find” at the top of this page and select “Explore eResources.” Then click on “OverDrive” to find out what you’ve been missing.
A new version of the OverDrive app for Android, iOS (iPhone/iPad/iPod touch), and Windows 8 now requires fewer steps. First-time users will be prompted to create an OverDrive account. Once that’s done up, you can begin to enjoy the convenience of downloading eBooks and audiobooks right to your tablet, smart phone or computer.
There is no change for existing users who already have an Adobe ID or OverDrive account associated with their OverDrive app, even after they update to the newest version.
While they were at it the folks at OverDrive, our main digital book provider, also made it easier for users to sync reading progress across multiple devices. So if you download a book on your tablet, you can read it later on you telephone and never lose your place.
