COVID-19 Statement from the Carbondale Public Library

Dear Patrons of Carbondale Public Library,

Carbondale Public Library (CPL) is making every effort to provide a safe space for our staff and patrons. Because the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is recommending social distancing (keeping six feet between two people) and avoiding close contact with people who are sick, CPL is canceling all programs the week of March 15 through March 29. The situation will be re-evaluated on a regular basis. We are trying to do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19 while also continuing to provide services to our patrons.

CPL is observing the following practices:

• We are open and operating under normal business hours.
• All programs are canceled through March 29. You may keep up to date through our Facebook page and website.
• We will continue to get updates and guidance from the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the CDC.
• We are cleaning and sanitizing our library, with a focus on high-traffic areas.
• We are providing hand sanitizer for public use.
• We are removing toys from our children’s area.
• We are cleaning all items as they are returned to the library.

Of our patrons, we ask that you do not come into the library if you are not feeling well or are sick. We also ask that you wash or sanitize your hands upon entering the building.
