2021 Apprentice Garden Program—-Learning to Garden Applications
The Garden Project at our library is presently taking applications from families for our “Apprentice Garden Program”. Two families will be chosen.
The program is an effort to reach out into the North Pocono community and educate families on growing organic vegetables. Since 2017 seven area families, with school age children, were chosen based on their responses to application questions, their involvement in the library as well as their promise of commitment to the maintenance of their gardens.
Each family will be provided with 2 raised beds, seedlings, seeds and instruction, guidance and educational resources by Penn State Extension Master Gardeners from Lackawanna County, as well as garden volunteers.
If your family is interested in learning more about the program, as well as being considered for acceptance as one of the families read the guidelines that must be followed and complete the application. The application can be handed in at the front desk of the library.
