Civil War Roundtable: Embattled Freedom

The Civil War Roundtable will be meeting at the Lackawanna Historical Society, in the Catlin House at 232 Monroe Ave. on Tuesday, February 21st at 7 pm for a presentation by author Jim Remsen whose new book “Embattled Freedom” outlines the lives of thirteen fugitive slaves who settled in Waverly and returned South to fight in the Union Army. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.
Hosted by the Lackawanna Historical Society and the Confederation of Union Generals (COUG), the Civil War Round Table is a monthly gathering of anyone interested in the Civil War 1861-1865 with featured speakers, book discussions, and round table conversations. The group meets monthly at the Lackawanna Historical Society’s headquarters, the Catlin House, 232 Monroe Avenue.
