Courthouse Documentary to Premiere At Library

July 30, 2015

Tuesday, August 18th @ 7 P.M.

Community Room, Lackawanna County Children’s Library

A new documentary about the Lackawanna County Courthouse will premiere in Scranton prior to airing on Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN) as part of its “Pennsylvania’s Historic Courthouses” series.

Jointly produced by PCN and the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania (CCAP), the half-hour film will debut on-air over PCN in mid-August. The Lackawanna County Courthouse is one of five to be featured this year. To date, the program has profiled 16 the Commonwealth’s 67 courthouse structures.

The local showing will give area residents a chance to see it first.

Extensive local work went into the production of the documentary, which is narrated by Judge Tom Munley and County Commissioner Patrick O’Malley.

The screening will be free and open to the public. The library system will receive two copies of the documentary, one for circulation and one for the System’s local history archives.
