Have you heard of BookFlix? Young children love it! BookFlix pairs video storybooks with nonfiction books for an exciting and dynamic learning experience.
Choose a category like “Animals and Nature” or “People and Places” to get started. From there, select your books. For example, the picture book Roberto the Insect Architect by Nina Laden is paired with the nonfiction book Termites by Martha E. H. Rustad. Your child may watch a video of the story of Roberto and then virtually page through Termites, which includes a read-along option.
BookFlix is free with your Lackawanna County Library card! Simply head to lclshome.org/find and click on BookFlix from the alphabetized list of online resources. Begin exploring!
Don’t forget, any books your child experiences on BookFlix count towards the county-wide initiative, 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten. Log the books and keep working towards the goal of reading 1,000 books before your child enters kindergarten. If you haven’t registered yet, do so at any library in Lackawanna County to receive your log and get started!
