“Funny Ladies” Library Film Series at Albright in August

Albright Memorial Library will be presenting a weekly film series this August highlighting women in comedy. The Funny Ladies Film Series will feature legendary actresses – including Lucille Ball, Mae West and Marilyn Monroe – in some of their funniest film roles. The film series will be presented weekly in the Community Room, located in the basement of the Lackawanna County Children’s Library.
Thursday, August 4th at 7 PM – THE FULLER BRUSH GIRL (1950) starring Lucille Ball
Wednesday, August 10th at 6 PM – SHE DONE HIM WRONG (1933) and EVERY DAY’S A HOLIDAY (1938), starring Mae West
Wednesday, August 17th at 7 PM – HOW TO MARRY A MILLIONAIRE (1953), starring Marilyn Monroe, Lauren Bacall, and Betty Grable
Wednesday, August 24th at 6 PM and 7:30 PM – ANTONIA & JANE (1990), starring Imelda Staunton (Delores Umbridge from the Harry Potter films) and Saskia Reeves
The Funny Ladies film series is being sponsored by The Friends of Scranton Public Library, who are also generously providing refreshments.
All films are free with your Lackawanna County Library Card; however, seating is limited and registration is strongly suggested.
