Join the Big Library Read and Connect with Readers around the World
May 1, 2024
The next Big Library Read kicks off on May 9! The Big Library Read is a global, online book club that is free for you to join with your Lackawanna County Library System library card. This reading program connects individuals around the globe as they all read and discuss the selected book, which is available for all with no waitlist or holds.
This time, the Big Library Read has selected Wild New World by Dan Flores:
In thrilling narrative style, informed by genomic science, evolutionary biology, and environmental history, Flores celebrates the astonishing bestiary that arose on our continent and introduces the complex human cultures and individuals who hastened its eradication, studied America’s animals, and moved heaven and earth to rescue them. Eons in scope and continental in scale, Wild New World is a sweeping yet intimate Big History of the animal-human story in America.
The Big Library Read runs May 9 through May 23. Download an eBook or Audiobook copy of Wild New World using Libby. Libby is free to use for all LCLS patrons by logging in with your library card number. For assistance with Libby, please contact your local Library.
During the Big Library Read, you can borrow copies of Wild New World with no waitlist or holds. Visit the club’s website to join discussions and share your reading experience with thousands of other readers. On May 23, enjoy a Q&A session with Dan Flores at 12:00 P.M.
