10 Years of Outstanding Speakers

Join the Library Lecture Society

Since 2005, the Lackawanna County Library System has brought outstanding writers, statesmen, athletes and artists to Lackawanna County. Author, journalist and film maker Sebastian Junger, author, actress, social critic and humorist Fran Lebowitz, theoretical physicist and futurist Michio Kaku, undersea explorer and Titanic discoverer Robert Ballard, historians David McCullough and Michael Beschloss, and athlete Emmitt Smith are just some of the names that have been part of the Library Lecture Series.

You can help this tradition continue by joining the Library Lecture Society. Membership entitles you to advance notice of coming speakers, an invitation to pre-lecture receptions and an opportunity to meet the speaker.
