Mary Rable’s Next Chapter
August 5, 2021
It is with mixed emotions that the North Pocono Public Library Board of Trustees accepts the resignation of our Vice President, Mary Rable. We will miss her dearly, but we are full of hope and well-wishes as she joins the Lackawanna County Library System Board. Over the past 10 years, Mary has worn a multitude of hats while on our Board, serving as Secretary, President, and Vice President. She was integral in the construction of our Library’s current facility; a key player in the creation of the Friends of the North Pocono Public Library; and a fierce advocate for library programming and services. These are just a few examples of how Mary’s efforts have been vital in ensuring the Library remains a vibrant part of our close-knit community.
While we will miss the passion, dedication, and overall sense of camaraderie we feel with Mary, we know the Lackawanna County Library System Board has gained a valuable member. In Mary’s own words, “I am excited to see what the future brings – not only for North Pocono, but for all of the libraries in Lackawanna County. I want to continue at the county level to be a part of the metamorphosis that libraries are continually experiencing. Our opportunities are endless and each of the libraries in our system are amazingly quick to adapt to emerging trends and technologies and to provide learning and resources to anyone who seeks them. A library card is truly a passport to lifelong learning and community engagement.”
Mary, thank you for your years of selfless service and support. We wish you all the best as you embark on your next chapter!
