Photo, Audio, and Video Editing
May 5, 2017
Soon libraries in Lackawanna County will be able to provide patrons with editing software in the form of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Audition, and Adobe Premiere. The “Creation Station” consists of several Mac computers that will be available at four county libraries – Abington Community Library, North Pocono Public Library, Valley Community Library, and Scranton Public Library – as well as several mobile units that will travel to other libraries in the system. Each computer will be equipped with the full suite of Adobe programs with microphones and headphones available to those who need them.
Training and instruction in these programs will be provided by libraries over the next couple of months. Lead by professionals in these software programs, each session will begin with a 90-minute introduction to the Adobe application, followed by a 90-minute open lab. Registration is required and seating is limited. Due to limited time, instruction in only one application will be provided by each library but feel free to register for training at any of the libraries listed below.
All training sessions are on Saturdays from 1-4PM. Anyone wishing to attend should call or visit the public library holding the session their interested in. NOTE: If you wish to save any material you work on, you MUST bring your own flash drive to the session. If you want to work on your own projects during the open labs, please bring your own material with you. (The mobile labs are not connected to the Internet.) Basic computer competency is required; these are NOT introduction to computers classes.
Creation Station is made possible by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education through the Offices of Commonwealth Libraries.
