Program Highlight: Read to Dogs
December 11, 2018
Volunteers from Therapy Dogs, International gather each month at the Abington Community Library for an evening of reading and togetherness.
Library patrons may do a double-take when dogs walk into the Library, but it’s a welcome sight. Easygoing dogs who love attention visit the Library on the second Wednesday of each month from 6-7PM.
Children in grades K-2 who would like some extra reading practice may drop in, pick out a book, and read to a new friend. Reading aloud in a low-pressure, low-risk neutral environment like the Library to a non-judgmental listener like a dog gives great experience to beginning readers.
Why not drop by and check out this fun group? No registration is required for this event. Join us for our next meeting on Wednesday, December 12.
