ZooMobile! At the Children’s Library
July 11, 2014
The Children’s Library had a visit with animals from the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park on Friday!
Melissa started the presentation with Loretto the parrot. She loved hanging out on her perch, in fact she stayed put for the entire presentation! Loretto is actually 30 years old, and will live into her 80s. And as you can see, the two of us became best friends.
Vader the rabbit is new to the Zoomobile family, and he was so nervous he actually wet himself! Poor rabbit, not really living up to his Darth Vader namesake. To make him feel more comfortable we all stayed very quiet during his presentation.
Medusa the sssssssssssssssssnake. Melissa brought her around the room so we could feel her scales. She doesn’t look it, but Medusa was actually the oldest animal we saw. She is 32!
Our last guest was an armadillo! Did you know that armadillos don’t have front teeth? They just have molars in the back of their mouths.
Thank you to everyone who came out to the Children’s Library to share in this wild experience! And a special thank you to Melissa and the Zoomobile from Ross Park in Binghamton for visiting the Children’s Library.
